Lady Buffs fall to SWU

Central, S.C. (Sept. 29, 2010) --- The Milligan College Lady Buffs soccer team came up short in a nonconference matchup on Wednesday night as they fell 3-1 to Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C.

The Lady Buffs fell behind early as the Lady Warriors scored two goals within the first 15 minutes of the game. Despite a hard fought effort, Milligan was unable to rebound and overcome the deficit. Samantha Barton (Marietta, Ga.) scored the lone goal for Milligan. It was Barton's first goal of the season.

“We cannot win games when we come out slow,” Head Coach Lisa Buckley said. “We have to regroup and get ready for a big conference game on Saturday.”

With the loss, the Lady Buffs fall to 4-3-2 overall and remain 2-0 in the AAC.

Milligan returns to Anglin Field on Saturday, Oct. 2, when they host AAC foe Reinhardt University for Senior Day. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
