Milligan basketball defeats TWC on the road

Athens, Tenn. (Jan. 29, 2011) --- The Milligan College men's basketball team picked up their sixth straight AAC victory on Saturday as they defeated Tennessee Wesleyan College 92-85 in Athens, Tenn.

The first half saw neither team able to run away from the other as Milligan led 44-41 at the break. The Buffs outscored the Bulldogs 48-44 in the second half to take the victory.

Hudson Fricke (Greeneville, S.C.) led Milligan with 24 points. Freshman Kyle Grisby (Charlotte, N.C.) and Tim Harper (Catawba, N.C.) both recorded 17 points, while Cordero Seymour (Inagua, Bahamas) had his second straight double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

The Buffs were 28-of-70 (44%) from the floor and 9-of-22 (41%) from the 3-point line. TWC was 30-of-63 (48%) from the field and 8-of-21 (38%) from behind the arc.

With the win, Milligan improves to 11-10 overall and 7-1 in conference action.

The Buffs return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 2, when they travel to Bluefield, Va., for a conference matchup with Bluefield College. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
