Milligan College, Tenn. (Oct. 22, 2011) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team picked up a 3-0 victory over Covenant College to celebrate Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at Anglin Field.

  Neither team was able to break onto the scoreboard in the first half as they went into halftime scoreless. However, the Buffaloes took control of the game in the 53
rd minute when
Grace Shawley (Mineral Springs, N.C.) kicked in a free kick.

  Milligan added another score when senior
Lauren Lameier (Woodstock, Ga.) beat the Scot goalie on a penalty kick. The Buffaloes capped off the scoring in the 61
st minute when
Jacklyn Orange (Bagdad, Ky.) scored on a header from a Lameier pass.

 “It was a great way to send the seniors out,” Head Coach
Lisa Buckley said. “It was a good performance for us, especially in the second half. I felt that we came out with a little more fire.”

  With the win, Milligan improves to 9-5-1 overall and remain 5-1 in AAC action.
ÂÂ
  The Buffaloes return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 26, when they host Tennessee Wesleyan for the regular season finale in a crucial AAC matchup. Game time at Anglin Field is set for 2 p.m.
