Milligan women's soccer sees season end in AAC quarterfinals

Kingsport, Tenn. (Nov. 5, 2011) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team saw their season come to an end on Saturday afternoon as Columbia College advanced 4-3 past the Buffaloes on penalty kicks in the AAC Quarterfinals held in Kingsport, Tenn.
 
   The Buffaloes opened the scoring in the game's 17th minute when senior Rachel Martin scored off an assist from Jacklyn Orange (Bagdad, Ky.) Neither team could find the back of the net in the remainder of the first half as Milligan took a 1-0 lead into the break.
 
   The Fighting Koalas evened the game when Jessica Martinez scored in the 65th minute. Both teams continued to fight but unable to find the back of the net to send the game into overtime. After the stalemate was unbroken in overtime, Columbia advanced 4-3 on penalty kicks in the shootout.
 
   The loss ends the Buffaloes season with a 9-6-2 record, and Milligan was 5-2 during the AAC. Milligan lose seven seniors to graduation.
