Barbourville, Ky. (Dec. 10, 2011) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team used a strong second half to take a 83-52 victory over Tennessee Temple on the second and final day of the Lady Bulldog Classic in Barbourville, Ky., on Saturday evening.

  Milligan opened the game on an 8-2 run, but they Lady Crusaders slowly cut the Buffaloes lead as the teams were tied at 12 midway through the half. The Buffaloes were not able to extend their lead for the remainder of the period as Milligan lead 28-26 at the break.

  Milligan came out of the half time break on an 8-0 run, and that sparked the Buffaloes to go on a 21-5 run to pull away from Tennessee Temple. From that point, the Buffaloes slowly added to their advantage to take the victory.

Alisha Mainer (Flag Pond, Tenn.) led the way with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) also had 19 points and seven rebounds, while
Johneshia Good (Johnson City, Tenn.) recorded 13 points and four assists.
Kelly Hudler (West Jefferson, N.C.) had eight points.

  As a team, Milligan shot 33-of-79 (42%) from the field and was 5-of-21 (24%) from behind the arc. Tennessee Temple was 20-of-68 (31%) from the floor and 1-of-10 (10%) from the 3-point line.

  With the win, Milligan improves to 7-5 overall.

  The Buffaloes return to action on Friday, Dec. 16, when they kick off a two-game road trip through Florida at Webber University. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
