Buffaloes women's basketball picks up win

Milligan College, Tenn. (Dec. 16, 2011) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team jumped out early and never looked back as they picked up their third straight win with a 69-47 victory over Webber International University on Friday evening in Babson Park, Fla.
 
   The Buffaloes started the game on a 20-5, and then kept the pressure on as they took a 33-14 lead into the half. In the first half, the Milligan defense held Webber to just 13% shooting from the field.
 
   In the second half, Milligan continued to control the tempo as they maintained their advantage for the majority of the half.
 
   Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) had 19 points, while Johneshia Good (Johnson City, Tenn.) recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds and 10 points. Alisha Mainer (Flag Pond, Tenn.) narrowly missed a double-double as she had 10 rebounds and nine points.
 
   As a team, Milligan was 22-of-56 (39%) from the floor and 9-of-24 (38%) from the 3-point line. Webber ended the game 16-of-67 (24%) from the field and 7-of-22 (31%) from the 3-point line.
 
   With the victory, the Buffaloes improve to 8-5 on the season.
 
   Milligan wraps up 2011 on Saturday, Dec. 17, as they continue their two-game road trip through Florida with a game at Warner University. Game time in Lake Wales, Fla., is slated for 2 p.m.
