Montreat, N.C. (Dec. 3, 2011) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team came up short in their first AAC road game of the season as they fell 100-71 to No. 22 Montreat College on Saturday evening in Montreat, N.C.
 
   Milligan was unable to keep pace with the hot shooting Cavaliers as Montreat used a pair of runs to storm out to a 32-13 lead with seven minutes left in the first half. The Buffaloes kept fighting, and trimmed the Montreat lead to trail 46-32 at the half.
 
   In the game's second half, Milligan continued to fight hard, but was unable to close the gap any further before the end of the game.
 
   
Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) had 18 points, while 
Ashlee Price (Rogersville, Tenn.) recorded 13 points. 
Johneshia Good (Johnson City, Tenn.) added 10 points for Milligan. 
Dorian Freeman (Augusta, Ga.) and Price led Milligan in rebounding with six rebounds apiece.
 
   As a team, Milligan was 24-of-67 (36%) from the field and was a perfect 4-of-4 (100%) from the 3-point line. Montreat was an impressive 39-of-66 (59%) from the floor and 5-of-5 (100%).
 
   With the loss, Milligan falls to 5-5 overall with a 1-1 AAC record, while Montreat moves to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in conference action.
 
   The Buffaloes return to action on Friday, Dec. 9, when they participate in the Union Classic in Barbourville, Ky. Milligan opens the two-day classic at 6 p.m., on Friday against Emmanuel College.ÂÂ
