Milligan College, Tenn. (Apr. 6, 2011) --- The Milligan College tennis program saw both teams pick up AAC victories over Reinhardt University on Wednesday afternoon at Mathes Tennis Center. The women picked up a 9-0 victory, while the men took a 5-4 decision over the Eagles.
For the men,
Wade Tugman (Mountain City, Tenn.) broke a 4-4 tie with his singles victory as he claimed a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory.
Ricky Jones (Elizabethton, Tenn.) picked up a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Justin Wagner, while
Wesley Rice (Knoxville, Tenn.) took a 6-1, 6-3 win over Tyler Winters.
The women continued their quest for the AAC title as they jumped out early and never looked back on their way to a 9-0 victory.
“It was great for our men to take such a close victory,” Head Coach
Ryan Reynolds said. “On the women's side, it was great to get another AAC victory to put on the books.”
The women's team improves to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in AAC action, while the men improve to 4-6 overall and 1-1 in AAC play.
The Buffaloes will wrap up AAC play this weekend as they travel to Union College on Saturday, April 9, and Bluefield College on Sunday, April 10.
