Montreat, N.C. (Oct. 23, 2012) --- The Milligan College volleyball team came up short on Tuesday night as they fell 3-0 to Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Montreat College in Montreat, N.C.

  In the game's first set, neither team could pull away until the Lady Cavaliers used a late run to take a 25-20 set victory. The second set saw the Buffaloes jump out to a 14-9 advantage, but they were unable to hold off a late Montreat rally as they fell 26-24.

  Milligan continued to fight in the third set as neither team was able to run out to a sizeable lead as the set was tied at 12-12. However, the Lady Cavaliers ended the set on a run as they secured the match with a 25-21 set victory.

Holly English (Kingsport, Tenn.) had 13 digs, 10 kills and two service aces, while AAC Libero of the week
Katelin Henson (Kingsport, Tenn.) tallied a team high 17 digs.
Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) had 21 assists and 12 digs.
Kaitlyn Qualls (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and
Savannah Benton (Kingsport, Tenn.) had 12 digs and three solo blocks, respectively.

  With the loss, Milligan falls to 11-3 overall and 17-12 overall.

  The Buffaloes return to action on Thursday, Oct. 25, as they travel to AAC foe Union College. Match time in Barbourville, Ky., is slated for 6:30 p.m.
