Milligan College, Tenn. (Nov. 3, 2012) --- The Milligan College volleyball team celebrated senior day with a 3-0 win over Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

  The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an 8-4 lead to open the match, but the Buffaloes battled back to tie the set at 10. From there, it was all Milligan as they quickly pulled to take a 25-15 set victory. Senior
Katelin Henson (Kingsport, Tenn.) opened the second set by serving four straight points, but TWC responded to take the lead. However, Milligan used a 5-2 run to take the set 25-20.

  The third set saw the teams trade points as the Lady Bulldogs held a 15-12 lead.
Jessica Davenport (Cleveland, Tenn.) and
Kylie Whaley (Maryville, Tenn.) served six and four straight points, respectively, to propel Milligan to a 25-18 set victory.

Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) recorded 25 assists and 16 digs, while fellow senior
Holly English (Kingsport, Tenn.) had eight kills and seven digs. Henson had a stellar day as she tallied 16 digs and two service aces. Whaley ended the match with nine kills.

  With the win, Milligan closes out the regular season with a 19-14 overall record and 13-5 in AAC action.

  The Buffaloes will start the 2012 Appalachian Athletic Volleyball tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the MeadowView Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn. The bracket and seedings will be released on Sunday afternoon.ÂÂ
