Milligan women's basketball runs past Alice Lloyd

Pippa Passes, Ky. (Nov. 9, 2012) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team used a strong defensive effort in the first half to jump out to an early lead and never looked back as they cruised to a 97-80 nonconference victory over Alice Lloyd College on Friday night in Pippa Passes, Ky.
 
   The Buffaloes forced 20 Lady Eagle turnovers in the first half as they quickly built up a double-digit lead. Milligan maintained a 48-28 lead at the half.
 
   In the second half, Milligan continued to control the tempo of the game. The Buffaloes led by as many as 25 points before a late Alice Lloyd run cut the gap to 17 points.
 
   Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and Tracy Hardiman (Maryville, Tenn.) recorded 17 points apiece, while Dorian Freeman (Augusta, Ga.) tallied up 16 points. Jamie Hill (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Allison Jones (Morristown, Tenn.) had 15 and 11 points, respectively. Johneshia Good (Johnson City, Tenn.) tallied seven points, five assists and five rebounds in the game.
 
   With the win, Milligan improves to 2-1 overall.
 
   The Buffaloes return to action on Saturday, Nov. 10, as they wrap up a two-day trip through Kentucky with a game at Berea College. Game time in Berea, Ky., is slated for 5:30  p.m.
