Buffaloes women's soccer falls to TWC in AAC semifinals

Montreat, N.C. (Nov. 9, 2012) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team saw their season come to a close as they fell 3-1 to Tennessee Wesleyan in the semifinal round of the 2012 Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament in Montreat, N.C., on Friday.
 
   The Buffaloes opened the game's scoring in the game's 30th minute as Teagan Wood (Kingsport, Tenn.) scored after Kelsey Jones (Royersford, Pa.) saw a shot blocked off the Montreat keeper. The Lady Bulldogs evened the score in the 38th minute, and neither team could add another goal in the closing minutes of the first half as the period ended in a 1-1 tie.
 
   In the second half, Tennessee Wesleyan took a 2-1 lead in the 53rd minute and extended their lead in the 75th minute. Despite a hard fought effort, the Buffaloes were unable to close the gap before the end of the game.
 
   The Buffaloes finish the regular season with an overall record of 10-7-1, and they finished the conference regular season with a 6-2-1 record to finish in a tie for third place. Milligan will graduate 11 seniors from this year's squad.
