Milligan men's basketball falls in nonconference action

Newark, N.J. (Dec. 18, 2012) --- The Milligan College men's basketball team came up short in nonconference action on Tuesday night as they fell 75-72 to Berkeley College in Newark, N.J.

Neither team could get separation from the other in the first half as the Buffaloes trailed 41-38 at the break. Milligan was unable to break through the Knights zone in the second half to get the lead in the second half despite a hard fought effort.

Mickey Woods (Port Arthur, Tex.) led the way with 20 points. Cory Hendren (Lexington, S.C.) tallied 19 points, while senior Tyler DeVault (Kingsport, Tenn.) had 10 points and nine rebounds. Kurt Brooks (Newport, Tenn.) had 12 rebounds in the game. As a team, Milligan outrebounded Berkeley 53-44.

With the loss, Milligan falls to 7-6 overall.

The Buffaloes will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 19, as they play The King's College. Game time in New York City, N.Y., is slated for 7 p.m.
