Columbia, S.C. (Feb. 15, 2012) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team picked up a 80-71 AAC victory on Wednesday night over AAC newcomer Columbia College in Columbia, S.C.

  The Buffaloes used an impressive 17-of-28 (61%) shooting from the floor to jump out to a 46-32 lead at the break. Columbia made a late run, but the Buffaloes kept them at bay to take the victory.

Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) recorded 19 points to lead the way, while
Johneshia Good (Johnson City, Tenn.) had 14 points.
Dorian Freeman (Augusta, Ga.) and senior
Alisha Mainer (Flag Pond, Tenn.) had 12 and 11 points, respectively.

  For the game, the Buffaloes were 30-of-59 (51%) from the floor and 10-of-28 (36%) from the 3-point line, while Columbia was 28-of-70 (40%) from the field and 3-of-14 (21%) from behind the arc.

  With the win, Milligan improves to 16-3 overall and 8-9 in conference play. The Fighting Koalas fall to 3-14 in AAC action and 7-21 overall.

  The Buffaloes return to action on Saturday, Feb. 28, as they welcome Point University to Steve Lacy Fieldhouse for senior day. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m.ÂÂ
