Milligan College, Tenn. (Feb. 4, 2012) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team pick up their second consecutive win with a score of 80-63 against conference foe Bryan College on Saturday afternoon inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.ÂÂ
  Milligan opened the game with a jumper from
Dorian Freeman (Augusta, Ga.), which sparked an early seven-point run for the Buffaloes. Sara Barnett responded with a 3-pointer for Bryan, but the Buffaloes responded as they ran out to a 16-3 lead midway through the half.  Milligan continued to keep Bryan at bay as they maintained a 40-24 lead at the break.

  Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) recorded 8 points and
Ashlee Price (Rogersville, Tenn.) recorded 9 points for the half. At the half, the Buffaloes were 16-of-37 (43%) from the floor and 4-of-12 (33%) from behind the arc. The Lions were 8-of-27 (30%) from the floor and were 2-of-7 (29%) from the 3-point line.

 In the second half, Bryan opened the half with six straight points, but could not close the gap to 11 points, but
Chelsey Weddle (Hampton, Tenn.) scored nine consecutive points to extend their advantage. Bryan tried to cut into the Milligan lead late in the game, but the Buffaloes defense maintained the Buffaloes lead.

 Kelly and Weddle led the team with 14 points apiece. Price was just behind them with 11 points.
Kelly Huddler (Jefferson, N.C.) ended the game with eight points, and senior
Alisha Mainer (Flag Pond, Tenn.) ended with seven points.

 As a team, the Buffaloes ended the game 29-of-67 (43%) from the floor and 7-of-25 (28%) from behind the arc. The Lyons ended the game 21-of- 56 (38%) from the floor and 2-of-13 (15%) from the 3-point line.

 With the win, Milligan improves 7-7 in AAC action and 15-11 overall.

 The Buffaloes return to action on Feb. 8 when they travel to Barbourville, Ky, to play AAC rival Union (Ky.) College.  Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
