Oakland City, Ind. (March 12, 2012) --- The Milligan College men's basketball team saw a late rally fall short as they fell 80-69 to Ohio Mid-Western University on the opening day of the 2012 Christian College Invitational Tournament in Oakland City, Ind., on Monday afternoon.

  The Buffaloes was unable to recover from a late OMU run in the first half as they trailed 42-30 at the break. Milligan continued to fight as they closed the gap to four points with four minutes remaining, but they were unable to get any closer before the end of the game.

  Freshman
Mickey Woods (Port Arthur, Tex.) led the way with 17 points as he was 3-for-5 from the 3-point line.
Torian Sitton (Hendersonville, N.C.) and
Marshall Hardy (Kingsport, Tenn.) had 14 points apiece, and
Morgan McLeod (Hickory, N.C.) ended the game with eight points.
Chris Ellis (Bristol, Tenn.) had a team high seven rebounds.

  With the loss, the Buffaloes fall to 10-18 overall.

  Milligan returns to action on Tuesday, March 13, when they face the University of Virginia-Lynchburg on the second day of the CCIT. Game time is set for 1 p.m., in Oakland City, Ind. ÂÂ
