Pikeville, Ky. (April 1, 2012) --- The Milligan College tennis teams split a nonconference match with the University of Pikeville on Sunday afternoon in Pikeville, Ky. The Milligan women won 9-0, but the men's squad fell in a series of close matches as they fell 9-0.

  On the women's side,
Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) picked up a victory at No. 1 singles as she won 6-3, 6-2. Freshman
Sarah Rainwater (Knoxville, Tenn.) defeated Andrea Tobar 6-2, 6-1, while
Ahmee Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) defeated Haley Issac 8-0.

  The Milligan men came up short in several of their matches against the Bears. The team of
Kody Horne (Summertown, Tenn.) and
Mickey Brown (Kingsport, Tenn.) fell short 9-7 in their doubles match. At No. 1 singles,
Ricky Jones (Elizabethton, Tenn.) fell 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, to Dmitry Babenkov.

  Both squads return to action on Monday, April 2, when they host AAC foe Bluefield College for senior day. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
