Milligan College, Tenn. (April 28, 2012) --- The Milligan College baseball team dropped a 14-1 decision to AAC foe Union (Ky.) College on Saturday afternoon at Anglin Field.

  The Bulldogs came out of the gate swinging as they hit two homeruns to put four runs on the board in the first half inning.
Luke Kirk (Gate City, Va.) got on the base in the home side of the frame for Milligan, but they were unable to score the run. Union added a run to their lead in the second and four more in the third to pull away from the Buffaloes.

Cory Hilton (Johnson City, Tenn.) hit a double in the bottom of the fourth and Milligan put runners on third and second in the fifth, but they were unable to drive them across home plate. After the Bulldogs added four more runs,ÂÂ
Joe Purus (Hudson, N.C.) hit a double to drive Kolat across home plate to put Milligan on the board.

  Purus ended the game 1-for-3 with a RBI.
Dustin Clawson (Johnson City, Tenn.), Kirk, Hilton, and Kolat were all 1-for-3.

  On the mound,
Josh Hullett (Knoxville, Tenn.) was handed the loss as he gave up four runs on five hits.
Sean Robinson (Knoxville, Tenn.) pitched four innings of relief work as he allowed six runs on eight hits with three strikeouts.

  The loss drops Milligan to 13-11 in AAC action and 25-25 overall.

  The Buffaloes will open the 2012 AAC Baseball Tournament on Tuesday, May 1, at Hunter Wright Stadium in Kingsport, Tenn. The brackets for the tournament will be unveiled on Sunday afternoon.
