Milligan women's volleyball rallies past Truett-McConnell

Cleveland, Ga. (Oct. 11, 2013) â€" The Milligan women's volleyball team earns their second win in two nights as they defeat Appalachian Athletic Conference foe, Truett-McConnell College 3-0.
 
The Buffaloes pulled out decisive victories in all three sets. Winning the first set 25-11 would swing the momentum in the Buffaloes' favor, also earning them a victory in the second set 25-13. In the third set, Milligan continued to dominate with their offensive play winning 25-10.
 
Samantha Bruinius (Tinley Park, IL) recorded 11 kills that helped lead Milligan to their 3-0 victory. Kylie Whaley (Marryville, Tenn.) also had 9 kills on the night. Jessica Davenport (Cleveland, Tenn.) aided with 31 assists and two kills. Defensively, Kaitlyn Round (Billings, MT) earned 10 digs and two aces. Heather Harvey (Kingsport, Tenn.), Savannah Benton (Kingsport, Tenn.), Kayla Moore (Whittier, N.C.), and Emily Linkous (Morristown, Tenn.) each recorded four kills on the night.
 
Head Coach, Doneva Bays was satisfied with tonight's win saying, "It was a great overall team win and also, its nice to win two in a row."
 
The Buffaloes move to 5-6 in the AAC and 10-16 overall.
 
Milligan returns to action Saturday, Oct. 12, as they travel to Reinhardt University in another exciting AAC match-up. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
