Cleveland, Ga. (Dec. 7, 2013) â€" The Milligan College men's basketball team took a conference victory over Truett-McConnell College Saturday evening 91-88.

The teams remained close on the scoreboard throughout the first half as Milligan kept the lead until the six-minute mark when Truett-McConnell's Jr Hurst drained a three-pointer to take the lead 24-23. Truett-McConnell would keep the lead for the remaining minutes of the half and enter the break ahead 34-30.

The Buffaloes remained behind for the first part of the second half trailing by only a small margin, but
Kurt Brooks (Newport, Tenn.) would sink a pair of free throws to put Milligan ahead 47-46. The Buffaloes controlled the lead up until the last 20 seconds when Truett-McConnell's Andretti Lloyd made a free throw to tie the game and send the two teams into over time.

It would take two overtimes to decide the game's outcome. The first overtime would see
Mike Woods Jr. (Swannanoa, N.C.) tie the game in the remaining seconds of overtime with a last second three-pointer. The second overtime would see the Buffaloes control the scoring for the remainder of the game. Milligan would hold off the opposition and would take a close victory 91-88.

The Buffaloes were led by
Mickey Woods (Port Arthur, Texas) who recorded 21 points and six assists.
Torian Sitton (Hendersonville, N.C.) recorded a double-double on the night with 14 points and 15 rebounds while
Morgan McLeod (Hickory, Tenn.) posted 13 points. Senior
Scott Blake (Greenville, Tenn.) also recorded 14 points on the night.

With the win, the Buffaloes record improves to 9-2 overall and 3-2 in the AAC.

The Buffaloes will return to the court Dec. 15 as they travel to Ave Maria for an out-of-conference match-up. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
