Milligan tennis splits with Mars Hill

Milligan College, Tenn. (Feb. 18, 2013) --- The Milligan College tennis program split a pair of matches on Monday afternoon against NCAA D-II Mars Hill College. The Milligan women won 9-0, while the men fell 6-3.
 
   On the women's side, Grace Sarver (Bland, Va.) and Sarah Rainwater (Knoxville, Tenn.) led the way with a 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles over Tatiana Dualiby and Marian Pinate. The duo of Rachel Hodas (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Hallie Winfrey (Fayetteville, Ga.) picked up a 8-2 victory over Anna Rickenbaker and Alison Fridley, while Martha Wells (Greeneville, Tenn.) and Ahmee Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) took a 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.
 
   The Milligan men saw Colin Bumann (Abilene, Tex.) defeated Michael Melvill 6-2, 6-3, and Caleb Friddell (Ooltewah, Tenn.) picked up a 6-2, 7-5 singles victory over Zach High. The duo of Sebastian Jonnson (Lysekill, Sweden) and Jackson Lenoir (Chattanooga, Tenn.) picked up a doubles victory for the Buffaloes.
 
   With the win, the Milligan women improve to 5-0 on the season, while the men fall to 1-4 overall.
 
   The Buffaloes return to action on Thursday, Feb. 28, as they host Tusculum College.
