Atlanta, Ga. (March 29, 2013) --- The Milligan College tennis teams split an Appalachian Athletic Conference match on Friday with conference newcomer SCAD-Atlanta. The Milligan men claimed a 6-3 victory over the Bees, but the women's squad came up short 6-3.

  On the men's side,
Andy Pullen (Kingsport, Tenn.) defeated Joseph Dwyer in No. 1 singles, while
Colin Bumann (Abilene, Tex.) picked up a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Mikaiah Vea at No. 3 singles.
  Jackson Lenoir (Chattanooga, Tenn.),
Caleb Fridell (Ooltewah, Tenn.) and
Mickey Brown (Kingsport, Tenn.) recorded singles victories for the Buffaloes. Milligan also saw the duo of
Sebastian Jonnson (Lysekil, Sweden) and Lenoir defeat the team of David Paull and Denzel Hollis 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.

  On the women's side,
Grace Sarver (Bland, Va.) defeated Alina Tseplukhova 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Tseplukhova was ranked 17
th in the latest International Tennis Association Top 20 NAIA women's poll.

  At No. 2 singles,
Rachel Hodas (Knoxville, Tenn.) defeated Lee-Anne Lingo in three sets, while
Sarah Rainwater (Knoxville, Tenn.) picked up a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Amanda Marrow in No. 3 singles.

  The Milligan men improve to 4-8 overall and 1-0 in AAC action, while the women fall to 11-2 overall and 1-1 in conference action.

  Both squads return to action on Monday, April 1, as they host former AAC foe UVA-Wise at the Mathes Tennis Center. Match time is set for 4:30 p.m.
