Milligan College, Tenn. (April 14, 2013) --- The Milligan College men's tennis team captured the first ever Appalachian Athletic Conference regular season title in program history on Sunday afternoon with an 8-1 victory over Reinhardt University.

  The Buffaloes opened the day by jumping out to a 3-0 lead after doubles action. At No. 1 doubles, the duo of
Andy Pullen (Kingsport, Tenn.) and
Colin Bumann (Abilene, Tex.) outlasted Andrew Cobb and Matt Porter 9-7.
Caleb Fridell (Ooltewah, Tenn.) and
Sebastian Jonsson (Lysekill, Sweden) defeated Nick Draghiceanu and Garrick Sanford by a score of 8-2 at No. 2 doubles, while the Buffaloes were awarded a point due to default at No. 3 doubles.

  Pullen led the way in singles action as he defeated Cobb 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Bumann pulled away to take a 6-1, 6-3 win over Sanford. In pro-style sets, Friddell defeated Jacob Barnette 8-1 at No. 4 singles, and
Jackson Lenoir (Chattanooga, Tenn.) picked up an 8-2 win over Steven Sepulveda at No. 5 singles. Milligan was awarded a point by default at No. 6 singles.

  With the win, the Buffaloes finish the AAC portion of their schedule with a perfect 3-0 record. Milligan is currently 7-11 overall.

  The Buffaloes will compete for a bid for the 2013 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championships during the AAC/NAIA Direct Qualifier on Friday, April 19, in Atlanta, Ga.
