Milligan College, Tenn. (April 6, 2013) --- The Milligan College tennis program saw both squads defeat NCAA Division II Barton College on Saturday afternoon at the Mathes Tennis Center. The Milligan women picked up a 9-0 victory, while the men captured a 6-3 victory.

  On the men's side,
Jackson Lenoir (Chattanooga, Tenn.) rallied to defeat Nick Genest 4-6, 6-1, 10-7 at No. 4 singles, while
Mickey Brown (Kingsport, Tenn.) defeated Mihnea Tomos 6-3, 6-1.
Sebastian Jonsson (Lysekil, Sweden) was also a victor at No. 2 singles by default.

  The Buffaloes swept doubles action led by the duo of
Andy Pullen (Kingsport, Tenn.) and
Colin Bumman (Abilene, Tex.). Pullen and Bumman defeated Jorge Pradilla and Genest 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. The duo of Jonsson and Lenoir picked up an 8-4 doubles victory over Rafa Velazeo and Daniel Rada, while the team of Fridell and Brown defeated Max Leppert and Tomos 9-8.

  On the women's side,
Grace Sarver (Bland, Va.) defeated Smiljana Kljajic 7-5, 7-6 at No. 1 singles, and
Rachel Hodas (Knoxville, Tenn.) captured a 3-6, 6-1, 10-2 victory at No. 2 singles over Alicia Lasry.
Sarah Rainwater (Knoxville, Tenn.) and
Hallie Winfrey (Fayetteville, Ga.) also swept their single matches.

  In doubles action, the team of Sarver and Rainwater picked up an 8-2 victory over Meredith Pruden and Lindsey Frederick at No. 1 doubles. Hodas and Kelly dispatched the team of Lasry and Kljajic 8-0, while the team of
Ahmee Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and Winfrey also picked up an 8-1 victory.

 With the win, the Milligan women improve to 13-2 overall, while the men improve to 5-9 overall.

  Both squads return to action on Sunday, April 7, as they travel to Tennessee Wesleyan for an Appalachian Athletic Conference clash. Match time in Athens, Tenn., is set for 2:30 p.m.
