Milligan men's soccer unable to rally at Reinhardt

Waleska, Ga. (Sept. 24, 2013) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team was unable to overcome a first half deficit as they fell 3-1 to Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Reinhardt University on Tuesday afternoon in Waleska, Ga.
 
   The Buffaloes saw a pair of shots from Nimely Robertson (Liberia) go wide of the net in the opening minutes of the game. Reinhardt jumped out to an early lead in the 18th minute when Shauqille Sanchez scored the first goal of the game.

   The Eagles extended their lead to 2-0 when Samson Nyamunda scored in the 32nd minute. Milligan was unable to get on the board in the first half as shots in the closing minutes by Andrew Torok (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Robertson went wide of the net.
 
   In the second half, the Buffaloes struck quickly as Bruce Olivier (Johannesburg, South Africa) found the goal in the 48th minute. Milligan tried to even the score as Andre Ottoni (Sao Paulo, Brazil) saw a shot saved by the Reinhardt keeper, and Jonathon Colson (Johnson City, Tenn.) had his shot go wide of the net. After Reinhardt added a goal in the final 10 minutes, the Buffaloes were unable to connect on a pair of shots to close the gap.
 
   Defensively, Dan Ball (Chatham, England) recorded five saves in the game.
 
   With the loss, Milligan falls to 2-6 overall and 2-3 in AAC action.
 
   The Buffaloes return to action on Saturday, Sept. 28, as they travel to Union (Ky.) College for an AAC clash. Match time in Barbourville, Ky., is set for 4 p.m.
