Milligan tennis falls to Carson-Newman

Milligan College, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2013) --- The Milligan College men's and women's tennis teams came up short on Sunday as they fell to NCAA Division II foe Carson-Newman College. The Milligan men fell 6-3, while the women's squad fell 7-3.
 
   On the men's side, the Buffaloes saw Jackson Lenoir (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and Fernando Gonzalez (Santiago, Chile) defeated the team of Austin Mackey and Jon Allen 9-8 at No. 2 doubles, while the duo of Caleb Fridell (Ooltewah, Tenn.) and Alex Delozier (Pigeon Forge, Tenn.) picked up an 8-3 win over Lee Presson and Daniel Douglas at No. 3 doubles. At No. 5 singles, Lenoir picked up a 3-6, 6-1 6-2 victory over Parsson.
 
   For the Milligan women, Rachel Hodas (Knoxville, Tenn.) dispatched Stefey Stard 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Albany Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) won at No. 4 singles by a score 7-3, 0-6, 10-8 over Jen Oh.
 
   The Milligan men finish the fall portion of the 2013-14 schedule 2-1 overall, while the women finish 2-1.
