Morgan McLeod banked in a three-pointer as time expired Saturday night at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse, but it was ruled late and waved off, and the Milligan men's basketball team lost to Reinhardt, 73-70. ÂÂ

Milligan dropped its fourth straight regular season contest and fell to 8-6 overall (3-4 AAC). Second-placed Reinhardt improved to 8-7 (5-1 AAC).

Milligan trailed by five (72-67) with 32 seconds remaining when
Mickey Woods, on an offensive put-back, converted an and-one to pull within two. On the following possession, Reinhardt made 1-of-2 from the line and gave the Buffaloes 18 seconds at a chance for the tie.

Milligan controlled the lead for the entire first half and went ahead by as many as 13 early in the second half. With just under four minutes left, Reinhardt's Luke Joseph made a short jumper inside the paint to give the Eagles their first lead (62-61).

A bucket by McLeod with two minutes left knotted the game at 65, but Reinhardt's ensuing possession gave the Eagles the lead for good. The Eagles closed out the final five minutes on a 17-9 run.

Reinhardt's Quinton Wood led all scorers with 29 points on 6-of-19 shooting. He was 6-of-10 from three and 11-14 from the foul line.

Three Buffaloes made it to double figures, led by
Kurt Brooks with 17. McLeod finished with 16, and Woods had 13.

Milligan shot 40.0% (24-60) from the field in the loss, including 43.3% (13-30) in the second half.

The Buffaloes will have a busy upcoming week as they host Alice Lloyd College Monday at 6 p.m. before heading to Virginia Intermont (5-9, 3-4 AAC) Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
