MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Jan. 19, 2015) â€" Led by
Chelsey Weddle's 16 points and nine rebounds, all five starters of the Milligan College women's basketball team scored in double figures as the Buffaloes went on to win 74-67 against Columbia College Saturday afternoon.

Milligan has won six of its last eight games to improve 8-15, 7-8 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Columbia dropped its record to 9-14, 4-10 in the AAC.

Weddle was one of several Buffs close to a double-double as
Hayley Wyrick finished with 12 points and nine rebounds, and
Lindsee Price had 11 points and a career high-tying seven assists. Others to reach double figures were
Kelly Barnett (11 points) and
Allison Jones (10 points).

Despite Columbia cutting Milligan's lead to single digits in the final 45 seconds, Milligan used a strong first half to put the game away early. Price's first basket of the game gave the Buffs the lead for good, and started a 19-3 run just inside the 12-minute mark. That run was part of a 24-6 run Milligan used to close the first half.

A slow start to the second half allowed Columbia to close the gap to 13 points, but Milligan returned the favor with a 19-8 run, which took the Buffs to their largest lead of 24. Milligan led by 21 (74-53) before allowing Columbia to score the last 14 points of the contest.

Milligan recorded a season high of 14 steals. Ten of those came in the first half as the Buffaloes forced 15 first-half turnovers. Barnett matched her career high of four steals while adding four assists without a turnover. Price's game-leading seven assists also came without a turnover.

Milligan saw 18 players enter the game and 10 enter the scoring column.
Caitlyn Cain scored four points,
Jenna Potts and
Callie Cox had three apiece, and
Catelyn Radeck and
Madison Wilson had two apiece. Wilson's two points were the first of her freshman season.

Milligan pushed the pace of the game scoring 18 fast-break points, 14 of which were scored in the first half.

For Columbia, Kinsley Hall scored a game high 18 points on 7-of-24 shooting, while Azia Gibson added 17 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double.

Milligan will travel with the men to Truett-McConnell College this Wednesday, Feb. 4. The Buffaloes return home the following Wednesday, Feb. 11, to take on Reinhardt University.
