MIDWAY, Ky. (Nov. 10, 2015) â€" The Milligan College women's basketball team generated a strong comeback after a halftime deficit against Midway University, and started its 2015-16 campaign with four straight victories for the first time since at least the turn of the 21st century, all thanks to a 76-60 victory Tuesday night at Marshall Gymnasium.

Milligan (4-0) trailed 18-11 after the first quarter and found itself down two after Brittany Vandeventer hit a three to send Midway (0-4) into halftime leading 29-27.

The Buffaloes, however, responded with a 26-point outburst in the third quarter, nearly equaling their scoring total in the first half, all part of a six-point swing that gave Milligan a 53-49 advantage heading into the final 10 minutes.

In the final quarter, Milligan outscored the Eagles by 10 (23-11) to widen its margin of victory to 16.

Milligan has now won every game this season by double digits and has scored at least 76 points in every game for a scoring average of 79.3. The Buffs has also demonstrated strong defense early this season as they have limited opponents to scoring in the 60s every time this season for a 64-point average scoring defense.

Next up, Milligan heads to Barbourville, Kentucky, this weekend, where it will compete in the Union College Classic. The Buffs will begin by battling Alice Lloyd College on Friday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m., and will follow that up with their second matchup with Midway on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m.
