Hayley Wyrick,
Allison Jones and
Chelsey Weddle have made headlines all season long, and Wednesday, the trio made a big one as the Appalachian Athletic Conference tabbed them to the All-Conference team at the annual awards banquet.

Wyrick was All-Conference first team while Jones and Weddle were named All-Conference second team. Additionally, senior
Kylie Russell was named to the Champions of Character team, and
Kelly Barnett,
Jasmine Carter,
Shannon Jewett,
Lindsee Price, Russell and Wyrick were all named All-Academic.

Wyrick led the team in scoring, averaging 17 points per game. Only two games this season saw her with less than 10 points, the first of which broke a 24-game streak of double-digit scoring against a No. 10-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan College. She also led the team in free throw percentage at 75 percent.

Weddle led the team in rebounds (7.9 per game) and was second in scoring (11 points per game). She finished the regular season of her senior year with a nine-game streak of double-digit scoring, then added one more to her streak in the opening round of the AAC tournament against Truett-McConnell with a 14-point effort.

Jones, while averaging 11.1 points per game, also led the team in steals with 36. Much like her preceding teammates, Jones posted her own scoring streak, going nine games with 10 or more points, kicked off by a career high 33-point showing against Montreat in January.

Members of the Champions of Character team are AAC student-athletes who demonstrate the NAIA Champions of Character core values on and off the campus. The members of the All-Academic team maintained a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher with sophomore or higher academic standing.

Jenna Adams of Tennessee Wesleyan was named the conference player of the year. Adams was a two-time player of the week and the league's second leading scorer with 17.75 points per game.

Milligan's next game is Thursday at the MeadowView Marriott in a quarterfinal matchup with Bryan College. Milligan and Bryan split their two meetings this season, but the Buffs were 68-67 winners the last time they met.
