WALESKA, Ga. (March 21, 2015) â€" The Milligan College baseball team wrapped up one of the busiest weeks of the season with an extra-inning victory over Reinhardt University to earn a split doubleheader, 0-9 and 6-3, on Saturday.

Milligan won its seventh game of the week and improved to 13-7 (5-5 AAC), but Reinhardt (12-7, 4-5 AAC) won the series.

Josh Peterson once again went the distance in the nightcap, lasting all seven regulation innings and finishing out the final inning once Milligan scored three to go back ahead in the top of the eighth. Peterson allowed seven hits, three walks and three earned runs in his third win and third complete game of the season.

Edwin Soto broke the tie in the top the eighth after walking then scoring on
Justin Pearson's RBI ground ball. With the aid of a Reinhardt error, Milligan scored two more in the inning as
Sam Tarlton scored on the same play, and
Hunter Suggs later drove Pearson home with a two-out single.

Suggs and
Nate Clifton each finished game two with two hits, while
Nick Loughry had two RBI's.

In game one, Reinhardt jumped out with five runs in the third and another three in the fourth to hand the Buffaloes their worst loss of the season. It also marked the first time this season the Buffs were shut out.

Milligan will be at home over the next two weekends, welcoming Point University to Anglin Field on March 27-28 before Bryan College comes to town April 3-4.
