WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (April 22, 2015) â€" The Milligan College baseball team finished up the nonconference schedule for the 2015 season with a couple of losses to University of the Cumberlands, 5-1 and 8-3, Wednesday afternoon on the road.
ÂÂ
Milligan (21-19, 13-11 AAC) had game one tied 1-1 with one out in the fifth, but three errors in the inning led to three Patriot runs. Similarly in game two, the Buffs took an early lead of 1-0, but six straight Patriots reached base with two out in the third as Cumberlands plated four runs to go ahead for good. UC centerfielder Stone Osborne did the bulk of the damage with a three-run homer to left field.
ÂÂ
Josh Peterson paced the offense in the doubleheader with a two-hit outing in both games. He also came around to score one time in each.
ÂÂ
With the home schedule and the nonconference schedule in the books, Milligan will finish the season with one final Appalachian Athletic Conference road series, a three-game set with nearby Montreat College scheduled for Friday-Saturday.
