Volleyball sweeps Dalton State

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Oct. 6, 2016) â€" Freshman setter Kellee Geren tallied 28 assists to lead the Milligan College volleyball team to a nonconference win, 25-21, 25-22, 25-21, over Dalton State College Thursday night inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
 
Geren's 28 assists targeted eight Buffaloes for at least one kill as Milligan (21-6, 10-2 AAC) improved to 11-1 at home this season. With the win in straight sets, Milligan has won the last seven sets on its home court.
 
Leading the attack for Milligan was Samantha Bruinius and Marissa Langford who registered 10 kills apiece. Five others recorded three kills, including Julie Dockery, Geren, Bailey Thomas, Alora Ricker and Hannah Griffin.
 
Defensively, Alyssa Rupert earned 13 digs and Grace Ann Moorhouse had 12 digs.
 
Milligan will be on the road over the upcoming weekend as the Buffs head to Columbia, South Carolina, for a trimatch at Allen University. The Buffs will be back home on Tuesday, Oct. 11, for an AAC matchup against Bluefield, and the remainder of the Milligan schedule will be AAC matches.
