MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Nov. 22, 2016) â€" Five members of the Milligan College men's basketball team reached double figures in an 89-61 blowout of visiting Truett-McConnell University Wednesday night in Appalachian Athletic Conference action at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

Leading the way was sophomore guard
Tyler Nichols who finished with 16 points and three rebounds as Milligan improved to 4-3 (2-1 AAC) with its second straight win. Freshman
Daxton Bostian provided the Buffs 14 points, five rebounds and five assists with only one turnover.
David Casaday had 14 points.
Will Buckner and
Bo Pless each scored 11.

Much of the game was decided between the 13-minute mark and the 6-minute mark of the first half. During this seven minutes of action, Milligan scored 23 straight points, converting a 14-9 deficit into a 32-14 advantage. Seven Buffs were part of the scoring action in that stretch, including Pless who tied the game at 14-14 with a 3-pointer from the top of the key and Casaday who hit one of his four triples of the night to cap the run off and make it 32-14.

Mike Featherston and
Cole Anderson to make a 3-pointer during Milligan's hot streak.

Milligan then extended the lead up to as many as 22 in the first half before heading into the locker room up 19 at the half.

In the second half, the Buffaloes continued to pour it on with Buckner putting them up by 25 within the first five minutes, then
Nathan Hastings knocking down a triple to put them up by 30 in the closing minute.

Milligan will enjoy Thanksgiving break this week before turning around quickly for two games over the upcoming weekend. The Buffs will face Warner University and West Virginia Tech on Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 26-27, in Kingsport. The games will be part of the NAIA DII Showcase tournament.
