Men's basketball picks up road OT win

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 7, 2016) â€" Milligan College's men's basketball team traveled to nonconference opponent Johnson University on Monday night. After surrendering a game-tying three pointer in the final seconds, the Buffaloes rallied in overtime to win 108-99.
 
Milligan (2-1, 0-0 AAC) has now scored 100 points in its last three matchups against the Royals, winning all three. In tonight's game, Jacob Cawood led the Buffaloes in both points and rebounds with 23 and eight. Guard Tyler Nichols followed with 17 points. Three other Buffs joined Cawood and Nichols with double digit points. Tyler Faulkenberry, David Casaday, and Daxton Bostian scored 14, 13, and 12 points respectively.
 
The Buffaloes held an eight point lead at the end of the first half. In the second half, Milligan's lead got up to 16 with 8:43 left. The Royals chipped away into the lead and eventually tied the game with a three point field goal in the closing seconds.
 
Milligan responded with a dominating performance in overtime, outscoring the Royals 19-10.
 
The Buffaloes return to action tomorrow night when they travel to Asheville, North Carolina, to take on Warren Wilson College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
