COCHRAN, Ga. (Feb. 28, 2016) â€" The Milligan College baseball team rallied with four runs in the top of the ninth but came up on the short end of a 12-8 decision in the three-game series finale against Middle Georgia College on Sunday afternoon.

Shane Salley drove in two of the four ninth-inning runs with a two-RBI double to center field with two out, capping a three-RBI day.
Bryan Soto, whose at-bat scored two in the preceding plate appearance, also finished with multiple RBI's, driving in two.

Milligan (5-10) looked to avoid the series sweep by jumping on the board early with a run in the top of the first. Salley drove it in with a sacrifice fly to score
Hunter Suggs who led the inning off with a walk. Middle Georgia, however, answered with the tying run in the bottom of the first followed by a five-spot in the second to improve to 16-2 and win its 10th straight game.

Suggs' run in the top of the first was the first of three times the sophomore crossed the plate in the loss.
Braden Jones led the Milligan offense with a 2-for-3, two-RBI effort.

Milligan begins Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Saturday, March 5, at home against Montreat College. Pending weather, teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. and a single game on Sunday at 2 p.m.
