BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (April 10, 2016) â€" After the Buffaloes fell 12-4 in game one after a nine-run fourth inning for Montreat College,
Jessica Goodson kept the Lady Cavaliers off the scoreboard in game two as she led the Milligan College softball team to a 10-0 victory in six innings Sunday at Roxy Hines Field.

Milligan (21-11 overall, 9-5 AAC), who began the day alone in third place in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, won its 10th game in its last 12 meetings with Montreat (7-35, 3-13), who used the game one victory to snap a 10-game losing streak and streak of 10 straight games with less than three runs scored.

Goodson (10-5) pitched all six innings in the nightcap, while
Kassi Butcher (5-4) started game one with 3.1 innings of work and
Cayley Shoemaker went the final 2.2. The shutout was the second of the season for Goodson and her fifth complete game.

Kacie Skeen was 3-for-3 in game one while Butcher and
Jenna Gilbert were 2-for-3. Ashely Arnold added a hit in the opener while the Buffs committed six errors as a team.

Game two saw
Kimberly Robinson and Shoemaker go 2-for-2,
Madison Grindstaff and Gilbert go 2-for-4 with
Katie Lawson,
Jessica Wheelock,
Natalie Sheffey and
Rachel Coffey also adding knocks.

Next up, Milligan hosts its final two AAC-home doubleheaders, beginning with Union College on Tuesday, April 12, at 1 p.m., and then the Buffs host AAC-leading and No. 16 Reinhardt University on Friday, April 15, at 2 p.m.
