MOUNT VERNON, Ga. (Aug. 27, 2016) â€" Milligan College's women's soccer team traveled to Brewton-Parker College on Saturday to open its 2016 season. The Buffaloes had more than enough offense as they overpowered the Barons 13-0.
Freshman
Bekah Cundiff made her debut and sparked the offense with two goals in the first 25 minutes. Less than a minute after Cundiff's second goal, junior
Sami Joy scored to put Milligan up 3-0. The Buffs took that lead into halftime.
Less than two minutes into the second half, freshman
Alyson McMillan scored her first goal as a Buffalo to put Milligan up 4-0. Less than 10 minutes later, Cundiff capped her debut off with her first career hat-trick and put Milligan up 5-0.
The Buffaloes did not let up and went on to score eight more goals from
Amy Long (2),
Rebecca Buchanan,
Christine Hardin,
Taylor Freeman,
Dharma Fawbush,
Caroline Ford and
Vanessa Quinones. Ten different Buffaloes scored on the day.
Milligan is on the road again next Saturday against Bob Jones University, before returning home for its home opener against Dalton State College on September 6.
