MONTREAT, N.C. (Oct. 4, 2017) â€" The Milligan College men's soccer team traveled to nearby Montreat College for an Appalachian Athletic Conference contest Wednesday night but came out on the short side of a 2-1 decision.

Rhys Borror scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season as the Buffs' lone goal scorer midway through the second half. It was assisted by fellow freshman
Jordan Burch and gave Milligan late life, cutting Montreat's 2-0 halftime lead in half and bringing the Buffs to within striking distance.

Milligan made a strong push at the end and had its chances to tie during the closing minutes but was unable to capitalize. Senior goalkeeper
Nick Smith made three saves in goal.

Montreat scored both of its goals in the first half, and both came on restarts following a corner kick.

Milligan will be at home for the next three matches, starting with Point University on Saturday at 1 p.m. The women are scheduled to play at 4 p.m.
