WILMORE, Ky. (Nov. 7, 2017) â€" The No. 24 Milligan College women's basketball team hit the road for the third time this season Tuesday night for a nonconference game at Asbury University. Despite a late lead, the Buffaloes fell to the Eagles, 75-68.
ÂÂ
Milligan led most of the way, including 34-31 at halftime and 64-62 with roughly five minutes to go in regulation. At that point, a 3-pointer from Asbury on the wing put the Lady Eagles on top for good. It started a 13-4 game-ending run and helped Asbury improve to 1-2 on the season. Milligan fell to 1-2 but has played three tight games so far.
ÂÂ
Milligan and Asbury faced one time last season at the DII Showcase in Kingsport right after Thanksgiving. Asbury won it 78-61 to snap Milligan's six-game winning streak.
ÂÂ
Milligan has two more games this week, including the home opener on Saturday against Asbury. Opening tip for that game is scheduled for 2 p.m. but the Buffs will be on the road in the meantime, facing Alice Lloyd College in a doubleheader with the men on Thursday.
