PIPPA PASSES, K.Y. (Nov. 9, 2017) â€" The Milligan College men's basketball team traveled to Alice Lloyd College on Thursday night for their fourth road game of the season. The Buffs were defeated by the Eagles, 98-81.
Junior Jacob Cawood led Milligan with 17 points and 10 rebounds, his second double-double of the season. Following Cawood was junior Desean Green with 13 points and six rebounds. Green led the Buffs with five assists and three steals. Fellow junior Aaron Levarity also earned six rebounds. Senior David Casaday added nine points for Milligan.
Cawood got the Buffs up on the scoreboard first with a field goal 30 seconds into the game. Furthermore, after 11 apiece the Buffs took off from there maintaining a lead on the Eagles. At one point in the first half Milligan led by 13 points. However, after a couple of three pointers and free throws made by Alice Lloyd, the deficit became less and less enabling the Eagles to lead by one point at the half (39-38).
Alice Lloyd used the momentum to continue a lead on the Buffs throughout the rest of the second half. In the final four minutes Milligan made 3 three pointers but it proved not enough as the Eagles defeated the Buffs, 98-81.
Up next, the Buffs compete in their first Appalachian Athletic Conference contest in their home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 14, against Truett-McConnell University at 7:30 p.m.
