WEST POINT, Ga. (Feb. 11, 2017) â€" After dropping four consecutive contests, the Milligan College men's basketball team picked up a much needed victory against the Point University Skyhawks. Sophomore
Will Buckner led the way with a double-double and the Buffs defeated the Skyhawks 84-60.

Milligan (12-15, 8-11 AAC) was on the short end of several close games, losing four in a row and having a second half lead in three of those contests. Saturday's contest told a much different story as the Buffs led the entire way. At halftime, Milligan led 47-33 with several players contributing.
Jacob Cawood had 14 first half points, while Buckner nearly had a double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds. Freshman point guard
Daxton Bostian racked up five assists in the first 20 minutes.

The Buffaloes led by double figures the entire second half. With 10:22 left in the game, the Skyhawks cut the lead down to 11, the smallest since the first half. Milligan responded with an 18-6 run created by five points from
Mike Featherston and four points apiece from
Tyler Nichols and Cawood. The Buffs never looked back and ran away with the 84-60 victory.

Buckner reached the double-double four and a half minutes into the second half, his first double-double since Nov. 19, against St. Andrews. The sophomore forward from Burnsville, N.C., finished with 15 points and a new career-high 16 rebounds.

Cawood scored a team-high 22 points, his ninth consecutive game with ten or more points. During that stretch, he has averaged 19.6 points per game. Nichols went six of 10 from the field and finished with 14 points, his 12
th straight game scoring double figures. After four games with one assist in each contest, Bostian has turned things around in the last two games. In the team's last outing on Wednesday against Allen, Bostian had five assists and followed that with six more on Saturday.

The Buffs return to action on Wednesday when they host Bryan College in what is their last home AAC game of the 2016-2017 season. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. following the women's game. Their last home game will Saturday, Feb. 18, against Johnson University, where they will celebrate lone senior
