WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (Feb. 18, 2017) â€" The Milligan College baseball team picked up two wins on the road Saturday afternoon, defeating University of the Cumberlands 3-1 and University of Ohio State at Lima by scores of 3-1 and 13-1, respectively.

Austin Perry was an out away from a complete game in the first game against Cumberlands. After
Clayton Conner hit a sacrifice fly to right field to give Milligan a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Perry went on to strike out six in 6.2 innings, allowing six hits, four walks and one earned run.
Chris Patterson tripled the lead with a double in the sixth, scoring
Jascanel Ferreras and
Ryan Young to make it 3-0.

Cumberlands cut into Milligan's lead in the seventh by getting a couple of men on then pushing one across on a passed ball. It brought in
Jacob Littleton for the final out, and the junior got the last out on a grounder to third.

Patterson was one of three Buffs in the first game of the day to finish with multiple hits. He went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles.

In the second game, Milligan scored in every inning but the last, doing the most damage in the fifth when
Hunter Suggs' RBI-double brought home the first two of five runs in the inning. Suggs was 3-for-4 with two RBI's and two runs scored while four other Buffs had multiple hits against Lima.

Cameron Sauls secured the win on the mound after pitching the first four innings and allowing only one run on one hit and five walks. He struck out three.
Jackson Arnold finished the last three innings to earn a save.

Milligan's next game will be at Middle Georgia State University on Friday, Feb. 24, when the Buffs open up a three-game series. The next home game for Milligan will be Tuesday, Feb. 28, in a doubleheader against Shawnee State beginning at 1 p.m. on Anglin Field.
