GREENVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 25, 2017) â€" After dropping the first game of a nonconference doubleheader, the Milligan College softball team came to life late in game two, scoring three runs in the final inning to earn a split at North Greenville University. Milligan lost game one 2-0 but won game one 5-4.

Ashley Arnold had the game winning hit in the nightcap, completing Milligan's three-run rally with a single up the middle to make it 5-4. It brought home
Madison Grindstaff who was one of two Buffs with a double in the inning.
Kelsey Linn had the other as Milligan improved to 4-5 on the season with the victory.

The three-run ninth in fact completed a five-run rally over the last two innings as Milligan, which trailed 4-0 through five innings, scored two in the sixth and three in the seventh.
Kimberly Robinson picked up the win after four innings in the circle. She struck out six and walked only two while allowing one hit and one run.

Robinson had a similar line in game one as she went 5.1 innings and allowed only three hits and one run. However, she suffered the loss as NGU pushed two runs across, one of them unearned, in the bottom of the sixth.

Milligan will have a quick turnaround as the Buffs host Lees-McRae College on Sunday at 1 p.m.
