Luke Spaulding were honored by the Milligan College baseball team on senior day Saturday at Anglin Field, but the Buffs fell to St. Andrews University 4-1 to close out the last home series of the season.

St. Andrews got out front early with a run in the first, two in the second and one more in the fifth to help claim the win after a doubleheader split Friday night. Milligan (22-25, 10-14 AAC) got its run in the seventh on a double by
Juan Vasquez which scored
Julian Johnson.

Chandler Daniels made the start on the bump for the Buffs and suffered the loss despite holding the Knights to six hits and two earned runs over the first five innings.
Wyatt Richardson relieved Daniels for the last four innings and kept St. Andrew off the board, allowing only two base runners and retiring the last nine batters he faced. Richardson struck out four.

Jascanel Ferreras paced the Milligan offense with a 2-for-4 effort at the plate, singling twice. Vasquez was 1-for-3 with the RBI double while three other Buffs recorded a hit.ÂÂ

Milligan closes out the regular season at Union next week in a three-game AAC series. Teams are scheduled to play Friday-Saturday, April 28-29, and the AAC tournament will follow the following week in Kingsport.
