MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Sept. 1, 2017) â€" A slow start proved costly once again for the Milligan College men's soccer team as the Buffaloes surrendered three early goals on the way to a 3-1 loss against Georgia Southwestern University Friday night. The game took place on a neutral field at Faulkner University, which is hosting several games over the weekend.

Rhys Borror scored his second goal of the season for the Buffs as their lone goal scorer. His goal came in the 85th minute, over 50 minutes after Georgia Southwestern had scored its third goal to go ahead 3-0. Georgia Southwestern scored its first goal in just the second minute before adding two more goals in the 12th and 34th minutes.

Nick Smith made four saves and faced a total of 15 shots, seven on goal, from the Canes. Milligan took seven shots in the contest. Borror's second goal of his freshman season accounted for one of the Buffs' two shots on goal while senior
Jack Allan accounted for the other.

Next up, Milligan will play host Faulkner University Sunday at 3 p.m. After that, the Buffs have another road match next Friday before returning home to Anglin Field for a matchup with Cumberland University on Sunday, Sept. 10.
