Men's soccer suffers loss at Reinhardt

WALESKA, Ga. (Sept. 14, 2017) â€" Senior Jack Allan scored his team leading third goal of the season, but the Milligan College men's soccer team fell 3-1 to Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Reinhardt University Thursday night.

Allan's goal came late in the match, after Reinhardt had already built a 3-0 lead. The Eagles first struck in the seventh minute on a header from Jordan Williams with an assist to Connor Heydon. Heydon scored a goal himself to double the lead in the 27th minute, and Reinhardt scored its third goal in the 85th minute.

Milligan goalkeeper Nick Smith made four saves on the night while facing a total of 19 Reinhardt shots. It brought Smith's career saves tally to 208, which is 56 shy of the Milligan record set by Bryan Newbold in 2009.

Milligan's next game will be at Union College on Saturday, Sept. 23. After that, the Buffs return to Anglin Field for back-to-back home games on Wednesday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Sept. 30.
