ÂÂ
FAWBUSH GIVES BUFFS EARLY LEAD
Fawbush provided the eventual match-winning goal just under 15 minutes in, finding a loose ball near the top of the penalty area after a corner kick from
Ashlen Burch. Fawbush lofted it over the outstretched hands of CIU goalkeeper Sam Wammock for the early lead.
ÂÂ
The Buffs continued to press throughout the rest of the first half. They outshot the Rams 16-4, including 9-1 on shots on goal, prior to the break.
ÂÂ
OLVERA DOUBLES LEAD EARLY SECOND HALF
Milligan came out the break with even more energy and put the Rams to the test on several occasions.
Bekah Cundiff had a couple of good looks at goal but was denied by Wammock who made a couple of nice saves. Thomas had an opportunity of her own pressing up from her defensive position but missed a great look just high.
ÂÂ
Olvera finally broke through for the Buffs with a lead-doubling goal in the 63rd minute. Burch had the assist on what rounded out the scoring.
ÂÂ
BY THE NUMBERS
Fawbush's goal was her second of the season while Olvera's was her fifth, matching Burch for second most on the team. Burch's assist to Olvera marked her third of the season, which is also second most for the Buffs.
