Buffs soar past Toccoa Falls

TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. (Nov. 3, 2018) â€" Four Buffaloes surpassed double figures and the Milligan College men's basketball team (2-1) soared past Toccoa Falls (0-4) 96-62 on the road Saturday afternoon.
 
Aaron Levarity registered his third double-double of the season as he hauled in 15 rebounds to go along with 23 points to lead Milligan. Through three games this season, the senior forward is averaging 23.6 points per game and 14.3 rebounds.
 
Junior guard, Tyler Faulkenberry, poured in a season high 16 points and Will Buckner added 15. Desean Green was the fourth Buff in double figures with 14 points on six of 10 shooting. Green also came away with a team-high five steals.
 
As a team, Milligan finished the game 37 of 70 from the field (52.9) and knocked in six of 15 treys. Defensively, the Buffs held the Screaming Eagles to 37.3 percent shooting from the field and 35.7 percent from deep. Milligan also forced 21 Toccoa turnovers on the day.
 
Milligan held a slim 43-39 lead heading into the halftime break but used a strong second half to cruise to the win. The Buffs outscored the Screaming Eagles 53-23 in the second period.

Milligan returns home for a matchup against Alice Lloyd College Monday, Nov. 5, inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. The game is scheduled to take place after the women's game and tip-off is set for approximately 7:30 p.m.
