MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Nov. 9, 2018) â€" The Milligan College men's basketball team fell on the road to NCAA Division I foe Middle Tennessee State 102-70 Friday afternoon in an exhibition game at the Murphy Athletic Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The exhibition was the first of four this season for the Buffaloes as they will travel to Elon, Appalachian State and the University of North Carolina Asheville later in the season.
Milligan put forth a strong effort in the second half after struggling heading into the break. The Buffs posted 45 points alone after the half and was only outscored by two points.
Tyler Faulkenberry led Milligan in scoring with 11 points on four of 11 shooting that included three 3-pointers.
Tyler Nichols followed with 10 points and
Mike Featherston added nine and two assists.
Senior forward
Aaron Levarity tallied six points and five rebounds on the afternoon.
Fifteen different Buffaloes saw playing time and 13 of them found their way into the scoring column. Milligan shot 26-69 from the field while the Blue Raiders scorched the nets at a 52% clip. Both teams shot relatively well from deep as the Buffs were 9-23 from three and MTSU was 10-25.
Middle Tennessee was led by Antonio Green (24 pts) and Karl Gamble (16 pts/12 reb). Five different Blue Raiders were in double figures for the game.

Milligan returns home to Steve Lacy Fieldhouse Tuesday, Nov. 13, for an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup against St. Andrews at 7:30 p.m. The Buffs will then step out of conference for an exhibition game at Elon University Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m.
